“The Legend Ends” scrolls “The Dark Knight Rises” tagline out on the most recent trailer. A reminder on what is a third and concluding cinematic landing; the end achievement for a franchise that has been upward scaling tiers.
When “Batman Begins” left movie theaters, the reboot became a falling fistfull of memorable quotes and a credible contemporary separation from Michael Keaton’s sufficient gig in a consecutive Batman trifecta. “The Dark Knight” outpaced its own film statistics outside the box office. Jack Nicholson now isn’t the sole Joker persona to benchmark as comparable next to Caesar Romero. Heath Ledger’s outstanding performance is neither the film’s saving grace or oasis of signature high marks, but even so the late actor’s “Why so serious?” interchangably eclipses with “Wait till they get a load of me”.
