DC Comics cancels some 52 titles, making way for a Second Wave

Mid-season cancellations on six admirable but struggling plotlines isn’t a factor of primetime.Instead, DC Comics is rotating Mr. Terrific, Static Shock, Hawk and Dove, O.M.A.C., Blackhawks and Men of War in April, the springboard 52 titles that were a part of following last autumn’s all new fleet.

A Second Wave, as DC dubs their successive phase, takes place in May. The new titles starting this summer within the 52 array hoists familiar comics – severances part of 2011s culling – back into the fold. Some are classics from DC Comics history while another contemporary title had a genesis almost a year to the month.

New titles has the all too familir Batman Incorporated, which premiered almost a year to the month. Classic titles that signal a type of rebirth comes with World’s Finest and G.I. Combat. Dial H upgrades into the 52 scheduling, a title first introduced in the ’80s with intermittent returns to a median regard.
