When it comes to steampunk and zombies, one author reigns supreme. Cherie Priest’s Clockwork Century book series has had zombiephiles and steampunk fans champing at the bit for more since the first book, “Boneshaker,” was released in 2009.
Three books, one novella, one short story, and a movie deal for “Boneshaker” later and the Seattle-based author has announced that the fourth book, “The Inexplicables,” will be ready for readers this November.
“The Inexplicables” tells the story of Rector “Wreck ’em” Sherman, Zeke Wilkes, and their posse of adolescent miscreants in the walled-off city of what used to be Seattle during the Civil War. The boys must navigate the dangers of the city––poisonous gases, roaming hordes of the undead, and the seedy underbelly of crime that keeps Seattle alive––in order to stop the newest monsters in town, known only as “Inexplicables.”
