‘The Walking Dead’ marathon and season 3 preview, July 7-8

AMC has announced “The Walking Dead” season three preview event will take place July 7-8, featuring a marathon of the first two seasons of the gutsy (pun intended) zombie drama and behind-the-scenes interviews with cast and crew led by “Talking Dead” host Chris Hardwick.

Starting at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 7 and Sunday, July 8, AMC will air a marathon of the entire series of “The Walking Dead” so far. The icing on the cake of this undead extravaganza will be a “Talking Dead” live special on Sunday, July 8 at 9 p.m., showing a behind-the-scenes preview of the new season. Following that will be a never-before-seen black and white version of “The Walking Dead” pilot episode, “Days Gone Bye,” as an homage to Robert Kirkman’s original black and white comic book.

Throughout the marathon, “Talking Dead” host Chris Hardwick will introduce each episode live from the season three set near Atlanta, Georgia. These brief glimpses behind the scenes will feature cast members and producers of “The Walking Dead” discussing key moments of the plot, shocking twists, and of course the demise of particular characters.

In “Talking Dead” on July 8, fans will get to view a scene from “The Walking Dead” season three for the first time ever. There will also be a tour of the set and a sneak peek at props and wardrobe from season three.

So grab your Hershel Greene-edition unlimited shotgun and all the roast squirrel you can chow down on and prepare yourself this summer for “The Walking Dead” marathon and season three preview.

We are the walking dead: “The Walking Dead” will return to AMC for season three in the fall. Until then, bide your time by re-watching the first two seasons and reading the original comic books by Robert Kirkman.
