‘The Hunger Games’ actors and music nominated for Golden Globe Awards

A song featured in The Hunger Games movie has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award, as have some of the franchise’s biggest stars.

“Safe & Sound” performed by Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars is nominated for Best Original Song in a Motion Picture. It’s going up against music from Skyfall, Les Miserables, Stand Up Guys, and Act of Valor. “Safe & Sound” was also nominated for a Grammy Award.

Meanwhile, Jennifer Lawrence has been nominated for Best Actress in a Motion Picture (Comedy or Musical) for her role in Silver Linings Playbook. Hollywood experts have predicted her performance in that movie could also earn her another Academy Award nomination. Silver Linings Playbook is also nominated in the Best Motion Picture category.

Philip Seymour Hoffman, who plays Plutarch Heavensbee in the upcoming The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, was nominated for his role in The Master.

Woody Harrelson received a nomination for his performance in HBO’s Game Change. He’s competing against The Hunger Games co-star Toby Jones in the same category for Best Performance by an Actor in a Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television. Jones is nominated for his role in The Girl.

See the full list of nominees online. The Golden Globe Awards will air Sunday, January 13th on NBC.
