IDW brings Cartoon Network programs back in comics

Many beloved Cartoon Network programming have seen their last episodes aired (some before its time), but their popularity still remains in the hearts of their fans.

IDW publishing plans to capitalize on this nostalgia and love as they have partnered with Cartoon Network to bring some beloved programs back in comic book form.

“Many of these Cartoon Network shows have only grown in popularity since they originally aired,” said Chris Ryall, IDW’s Chief Creative Officer/Editor-in-Chief, “and we’re excited to be able to offer new iterations of the characters in comic-book form alongside both our planned reprint material and also some new animated ventures Cartoon Network has planned, too. There’s a wealth of fun properties to play with here, and we’ve already got some unique things in mind for them.”

In 2013 the publisher plans to bring the PowerPuff Girls, Johnny Bravo, Generation Rex, Ben 10, Dexter’s Laboratory and Samurai Jack to the comic pages.

While release dates and creative teams have yet to be announced they are all slated to premiere this calendar year, so stay tuned for more details as they come available.
