The website was originally launched last year to promote The Hunger Games movie, and acted as if it were part of the Capitol society that rules over Panem, the fictionalized future version of the U.S. in which the movie takes place.
The site recently underwent a makeover and a relaunch ahead of the sequel, Catching Fire. Fans have now discovered that if you correctly move your mouse over the main image, you’ll find an image of an armchair and the message:
Always elegant. Always prompt. Join us on March 4th. #LadiesFirst
Fans are now speculating what could be coming on March 4th. Some are hopeful they will see the first official trailer for the movie, while others agree that might be a bit too optimistic.
Last year, Capitol Couture focused on the fashion and style of the Capitol — with Effie Trinket (Elizabeth Banks) as the main face of the campaign. The reference to “#LadiesFirst” is a quote from Effie’s character, so there’s a good chance March 4th could mark the relaunch of the site and possibly a new look at Effie’s character in Catching Fire.
Catching Fire doesn’t hit theaters until November, and cast and crew are flying to Hawaii to begin nine days of additional filming on the movie this week. However, Lionsgate is continuing to roll out promotions for the movie. They released several still images from the movie in January, and just last week released two posters featuring the Victory Tour with Katniss and Peeta.
