Carmine Infantino, comic book industry’s legendary creations

Legendary industry comic creator Carmine Infantino passed away today at the age of 87. The gifted artist, editor and co creator of some of DC Comics most enduring and iconic heroes (the Black Canary, Elongated Man, Deadman, Human Target, the Barry Allen Flash, Batgirl) and villains (Captain Cold, Mirror Master, Gorilla Grodd, Captain Boomerang) as well as working on titles such as Spider-Woman, Star Wars, and Nova for Marvel Comics in the 70s. Winner of numerous industry awards including the National Cartoonists Society Award in 1958 for Best Comic Book, eleven Alley Awards and a special Alley Award in 1969 for being the person “who exemplifies the spirit of innovation and inventiveness in the field of comic art”.
