‘Vampire Diaries’, ‘Walking Dead’ extra arrested in Ricin letters sent to Obama

NBC News reported on Friday, June 7 that actress Shannon Guess, also known as Shannon Rogers and Shannon Richardson was arrested after she allegedly sent Ricin letters to President Obama, New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg and the director of Mayors Against Illegal Guns on May 20. Mayors Against Illegal Guns is a group that advocates for stronger gun laws and was founded by Bloomberg.

She is from Texas but the letters were send from Shreveport, Louisiana.

NBC reported the following:

The letters sent to Obama and Bloomberg were discovered during routine mail screenings processes. The letter to the director of Mayors Against Illegal Guns, Mark Glaze, was opened…..The toxin ricin can be made from castor beans, has no antidote, and takes about 36 hours to kill.

Originally Guess blamed the letters on her husband, Nathaniel Richardson, who is an Army veteran.

Shannon has played extra roles such as student and zombie on series such as “The Vampire Diaries” and The Walking Dead“.She holds both a paralegal and teaching degree.

She has been formally charged at this time.
