‘Alpha’ actress Summer Glau arriving on CW’s ‘Arrow’

All “Arrow” fan eyes will be on lock for the panel at 2013 San Diego Comic Con. All looks for the second season beginning in 2013s Oct. can expect actress Summer Glau “Alphas” to join the cast, a surprise factor that may heighten the SDCC panel as well.

The “Firefly”-famed actress of the fan-favorite character River will join lead Stephen Amell, reports EW.com, and her part bodes working closely with the Hood portrayer. From DC Comics’s character stable, the part of Isabel Rochev moves to live action.

In the comics, Rochev is ambitious and possesses platinum confidence – just the traits for one able to assume the CEO postion of Queen Industries entailing a childhood within Siberia. A bit of an imposing eccentric, she is the fierce rival of Oliver Queen. Isabel first made a comics debut in 2010.

Glau’s signing on puts her amongst regular cast members Katie Cassidy, David Ramsey, Susanna Thompson, Paul Blackthorne, Willa Holland, and Colin Salmon.

The San Antonio-native’s most recent role was on SyFy’s “Alphas”. She made recent headlines taking a voice-acting part for the motion-comic “Peter Panzerfaust”, and while she has credits for versatile guest-starring or recurring roles on TV shows like “The Big Bang Theory”, “Greys Anatomy” or “The Unit” her best known portrayals outside that of River mark within “The 4400” and “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles”.

“Arrow” returns to the CW on Oct. 9 at 8:00 p.,m. ET.
