In a bit of a twist, Lionsgate has announced that the world premiere of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will take place on November 11th in London, England — not Los Angeles.
The announcement Tuesday marked the kick-off of a 100-day countdown to the film’s November 22nd release. In addition to hitting theaters in the U.S. on that date, Lionsgate confirmed that the movie will also be released on November 22nd in nearly every major international market.
No word yet on what else the 100-day countdown will entail, but a similar promotion was employed during the lead-up to the release of The Hunger Games last year. Lionsgate has already been ramping up its usage of the Capitol Couture website, which is run as if it is part of the fictional government of Panem’s propaganda machine.
