In one of the most-anticipated casting announcements to date for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Parts 1 and 2, Lionsgate has confirmed that actress Stef Dawson will play the role of Annie Cresta in the two-part finale of the blockbuster franchise.
The Australian actress will play the mentally troubled love interest of Finnick Odair (Sam Claflin). Fans have been clamoring for news on who will play Annie since pre-production began on Catching Fire, as there was debate over whether the character would possible appear in the second Hunger Games movie.
Dawson’s casting is the second official announcement to be made about the Mockingjay cast. Last week, Lionsgate revealed that Game of Thrones actress Natalie Dormer would be portraying Cressida in the movie.
Mockingjay is set to begin filming next month. The two-part movie will be released consecutively in November 2014 and November 2015.
