The last season has been one of the weakest in viewers but still in 4.1 million viewers for its season five finale last month.
The show that was created by Alan Ball and based on the “Sookie Stackhouse” series by Charlaine Harris debuted in the fall of 2008 began as HBO’s top show but has slowly been declining based upon poor writing and too many stories running with minor characters.
The season usually consisted of twelve episodes but was dropped to ten episodes this season and will only deliver ten next summer as well.
The story centers around the small town on Bon Temps, Louisiana where a telepathic waitress named Sookie Stackhouse meets vampires, witches, shifters, weres and more and deals with the drama that comes with life in this new world.
Brian Bucker, the new writer that took over for Alan Ball last season thanked “the most passionate fans in television” and promised to “do our very best to bring Sookie’s story to a close with heart, imagination and, of course, fun.”
All stars will be returning for this final season and if you live in Lexington, KY you can meet Rutina, Sam, and a few of the former cast members at Lexington ScareFest Convention in less than two weeks.
