‘Catching Fire’ actress Willow Shields volunteers for Oklahoma tornado clean-up

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire actress Willow Shields has been spending some of her down time between movies volunteering with tornado clean-up in Oklahoma.

A tornado ripped through the Oklahoma City suburb of Moore on May 20th, killing 24 people and destroying thousands of homes and other buildings across five counties.

Donations and volunteers have been pouring into the state over the last week to help out — among them Shields and her brother. The almost-13-year-old actress plays Prim in The Hunger Games films, sister to Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss.

Shields shared some photos of the clean-up efforts via her official Instagram account, writing, “Worked in Oklahoma yesterday handing out food and supplies to people working. Such an amazing experience!”

She later added, “Today I helped a wonderful family in Moore Oklahoma clean out their home. Thank you to the people of Moore for sharing their stories and I will never forget the volunteers for their efforts.”
